Expansion At The Helpline
The end of May marks Iowa Domestic Violence Helpline’s 8th full month of being in operation! Since October of 2015, we have answered more than 8,000 incoming phone calls from across the state of Iowa.
Many of you may have noticed the addition of ‘& Crime Victim Call Center’ to our name and logo. We are excited to announce that we have expanded, allowing our advocates to serve even more crime victims throughout Iowa. Our staff underwent many hours of additional training in preparation for the expansion, now able to assist survivors of homicide and victims of other violent crimes. The staff will continue providing the same great care and support to domestic violence victims and survivors. As of now, we have officially transitioned to the Iowa Domestic Violence & Crime Victim Call Center.
In the upcoming weeks, our website will be undergoing changes to include information for survivors of homicide and victims of other violent crimes. There are more changes on the horizon for the Call Center and we’re excited for opportunities to serve more victims in the very near future. We will continue to be open and ready to serve others who are in need.
We understand that homicides, violent crimes and domestic violence don’t just occur from 8 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday. Victims and survivors deserve to have support and help 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are honored to have the capability and compassion to provide this help and support.
As always our Call Center Advocates are available 24/7. Call us at 1.800.770.1650. No fees, no judgements - just help.
